The house is located at only 245 metres above sea level in Breña Baja, not far from the capital Santa Cruz de La Palma. It has been stylishly restored and extended by its German owners for decades and was last completely modernised and renovated in 2020/21. It is in perfect condition and meets today's living standards while sensitively preserving the typical Palmerian style. The classic exposed wooden roof timbers exude cosiness and authenticity. Skilfully concealed skylights and an unusually large number of double-glazed aluminium windows and wooden-look exterior doors have nevertheless satisfied the desire for light and warmth inherent to mainland Europeans, even inside the house. The typical Canarian L-shape of the house provides a well-protected terrace facing east - for morning coffee at sunrise over the Teide (the highest mountain in Europe on the neighbouring island of Tenerife). Those who prefer a little shade during the day will be delighted by the covered north-facing terrace with ample seating, even for larger family celebrations.
The house is divided into a cosy living and dining room, a kitchen, a small hallway, a large and a small bedroom and a daylight shower room. Thanks to its 60 cm thick walls made of hand-hewn blue basalt, the daytime heat is stored and released at night so that, in combination with the low altitude above sea level, heating is almost superfluous. Nevertheless, there are marble heaters in the living room, the bedrooms and the bathroom, which provide efficient heating where it is needed.
The space on offer is complemented by a small garden shed and a large garage, which can also be used as a home workshop or storage room. There is a further parking space for visitors in front of the garage and the driveway is secured by a swing gate. Access to the house follows a path paved with natural stone slabs along an already very tall avenue of palm trees via a staircase to the east terrace of the house. From here there is a wonderful view over the Atlantic and to the neighbouring island of Tenerife. If you absolutely want or need to drive up to the house by car, this path could also be widened so that this would be possible.
The low-maintenance garden is already so well established that it requires very little irrigation, which is made possible by a water tank that is filled with irrigation water at regular intervals. The house is connected to the public drinking water and electricity network, internet connection and landline telephone network as well as satellite TV are available.

Location
At only 245 metres above sea level on the LP 204, but surprisingly quiet due to the height offset to the road. Distance to the capital Santa Cruz de La Palma with all shopping and school facilities approx. 7 km, to the sandy beach of Los Cancajos approx. 5 km, to the international airport approx. 4 km and to the nearest nuclear power station approx. 1.660 km.
